Jamey Seely

Board Member

Jamey Seely is an accomplished executive and the EVP and General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at ION Geophysical Corporation.

Jamey Seely specializes in securities, board governance, mergers and acquisitions, finance, project development, human resource matters and high-risk litigation management.

With legal and business executive experience, as well as national private law firm and public company general counsel experience, Jamey has gained expertise in quickly growing businesses without their forfeiting viability and long-term goals.

Prior to joining the ION Geophysical Corporation and the TechGenies teams, Jamey was the SVP of Alternative Energy at NRG Energy, a Fortune 200 company and leading integrated power supplier in the U.S. She began her career with Thompson and Knight, where she soon became Partner.

Jamey provided general management, oversight, and legal supervision to a diverse group of businesses and ventures in the energy industry, holding positions including VP & General Counsel of Direct Energy and CEO & General Counsel of Nuclear Innovation North America LLC.Through Jamey’s leadership and guidance, she has helped create new and agile start-ups focused on carbon capture, residential solar, nuclear development, and oil recovery.

Jamey earned her BA in Philosophy from Baylor University; J.D. in Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law from Southern Methodist University; and Professional Certification in Energy Innovation & Emerging Technologies from Stanford University.

She currently sits on the Board of Directors for two privately held solar companies and various nonprofit organizations including Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts, the Hampton’s Environmental Initiative, and Texas Diversity Counsel. Jamey is recognized by the community for outstanding contributions in her field, award-winning service to her organization, and is also a frequent speaker and author.
